This past June we finished our 9th Annual Project Serious event, and we loved every minute of it. This is our opportunity to give back to the local community in a Serious way, alternating between donating our services to a local nonprofit and a local individual/family in need. For this particular event, we asked our friends and neighbors to nominate a local hero (retired first responder or member of the military). Margie Anderson served in the Army, and received a huge number of nominations (and much support) from her local friends, family, and neighborhood here in Central Oregon.
The giveaway is $15,000 of FREE services, but we rarely stay within that budget. The number isn't the point - we love having the opportunity to give back, and especially to someone who has served all of us, and our country, so well. We replaced siding, trim, completely repainted the home, and replaced her front porch, expanding it as well to accommodate the chairs she's always wanted. And, of course, the red, white, and blue color scheme fits her patriotism well!
You can find the full video recap of the event below!
We hand-picked 8,000 pounds of pumpkins!
Carving For Kids is an awesome way for our community to connect in support of a seriously great cause. How did it work? Well, we provided pumpkins, stencils, tools, a fun atmosphere, AND cleaned up the mess. Visitors had the option to either carve their own pumpkin or purchase one of our epic, seriously great creations, and 100% of the proceeds went to benefit the amazing work of MountainStar Family Relief Nursery.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we were able to raise just shy of $28,000 to help support families and prevent child abuse across Central Oregon. Seriously!
We seriously loved our day at the Deschutes Children's Foundation!
All the proceeds from this seriously great event were donated to Heart of Oregon Corps: "Heart of Oregon trains tomorrow’s workforce today through its WORK EARN and LEARN program model: Youth WORK on meaningful, hands-on construction and public lands projects. Youth EARN money and scholarships for their hard work and develop a strong work ethic. Youth LEARN while earning high school diplomas, GEDs, and college credits."
As a company that's Seriously connected to the community, we are a proud partner of the Deschutes Children's Foundation because supporting them means supporting thousands of our friends and neighbors through the programs they house in their buildings.
This year marked the 25th year of their annual Art & Wine Auction and we couldn't be happier (Seriously...) that the auction package we donated--100 hours of painting and 30 gallons of Sherwin-Williams paint--raised $8,500.
We delivered $15,000 of painting and carpentry services to the High Desert Museum, our 2017 non-profit winner of Project Serious: Seriously Great People Tackling Serious Needs! This event is the highlight of our year, and really puts feet to our community focus. Loads of work and loads of fun!
We always enjoy having an opportunity to support the Boys and Girls Club! This time, it was at their Thanksgiving Classic.
Shattering records while raising funds for MountainStar Family Relief Nursery! Proceeds were over 50% higher than the year before! We love our community, and love helping to support this tremendous cause.
