Decorating Tips for Long Walls

Decorating Tips for Long Walls

A large, blank wall can intimidate even the most enthusiastic decorator. What do you do with all that empty space? Aperion Management Group was facing this common design dilemma when they contacted us for an interior painting project. This business’s office in Bend, OR had an impressive 42 foot long wall that desperately needed something to give it visual interest without overpowering the rest of the room.

Creating a Wall Grid with Trim

Our solution was to create a square grid using interior trim. We love how the grid breaks up the empty space, and gives the wall visual depth. Once the trim and wall are painted to match this will be a subtle, yet beautiful architectural element in what was originally a plain office space.

Chalkboard Paint - Turn your blank canvas into an actual canvas by painting the entire wall or a large section of it with chalkboard paint. This is a great option for families but can be just as much fun in the workplace.

Plank Walls - Like the wall grid we installed for Aperion Management Group, planks, also known as shiplap, can add excellent visual texture to a large wall. Planks can be whitewashed or painted in an accent color, painted to match the rest of the walls, or you can find salvaged wood planks for a truly unique and interesting feature wall.
