Whoever tells you that you don’t need gutters living in Central Oregon, is just plain crazy. What’s more annoying than stepping out to your patio to do some winter barbequing and snow melt or rain running off the roof catches you down your neck? Or when the splattering of water around you house destroys your planter beds and makes a mess of your siding? No, we need gutters for the same reason those over in the valley do, to control the water coming off our roofs. We may not get near the rain that they do, but when our rain turns to ice and your walkways and patios are covered in it, you’ll understand why we need gutters too.
So now that we’re all in agreement about gutters, let’s talk maintenance! One of the most fought-over and desirable household chores is cleaning the gutters. You get to plunge your hands into icy cold muck and fling that muck into a bag, all while balancing on that old step ladder you’ve been meaning to replace- yippy hurray!
All joking aside, the seriously great folks at Webfoot Painting, love cleaning gutters. We’ve even made investments in equipment that make cleaning gutters a breeze, including special ladder hooks that prevent gutter damage by resting on your roof rather than the edge of your gutter. We’ll have your roof cleared of debris, your gutters so clean you can eat out of them (not recommended), and all your walkways and patios swept clean. Then we’ll haul this lovely muck away for recycling at the landfill.
For proper flow, we recommend cleaning your gutters at least once in the fall before things freeze up. If you have a lot of trees nearby, you may want to clean in the spring as well once things have thawed out. Spend your weekends doing the things that brought us here to Bend in the first- NOT cleaning gutters. Leaf that business to the Seriously Great Painters of Webfoot Painting! Cheesy pun intended!
